The largest layout in the show is provided by the Sipping & Switching Society of NC.
It is approximately 5,000 sq ft of beautiful HO modules from all over the state.
It runs flawlessly and is worth many looks and much study as a inspiration to all who aspire to better modeling.
The North Raleigh N Scalers were the first outside layout to join us when we moved to the Houlshouser Building.
It is a modular N Track layout approximately 24 x 68 in size. Members come from a wide area to set up their modules.
Many of these modules have traveled to shows far and wide.
Members of the NC Garden Railway Society provide a large G scale layout which varies from year to year depending on the wishes of the participants.
Children are frequently found watching Thomas and friends on this layout. It is set up on the floor and is sceniced with real plants and natural materials.
The layout covers an area approximately 25 x 60.
If you like action filled modules with lots of accessories don't miss the Atlantic Coast S Guage layout.
Many Americam Flyer trains and accessories are featured along with nonstop running.
This approximately 40 x 40 layout has many buttons to push for operation by the crowd.
Small and large children (Adults) can be found gathered around watching and pushing buttons for hours at a time.
Club members are on hand to answer questions and dispense advice to prospective model railroaders of all ages.
Last, but not least, and proof that good things come in small packages are two layouts provided by members of the TCA from eastern NC.
Both layouts are approximately 4 x 6 but are packed with Traditional Lionel trains and accessories.
They show that a huge space is not needed to enjoy the hobby of model railroading.
These layouts are just right for kids eye level viewing.
