SHOW HISTORY

The Neuse River Valley show was started in September of 1985. It was first held in the Youth Center at the Fairgrounds. The primary participants were club members wanting to sell their own equipment. A couple of hobby shops also attended. We stayed in the youth center for 3 years before the move to the Houlhouser Building. Layouts were added with the move. The club supplied three (Tinplate, O scale and HO ) and the North Raleigh N scalers provided the N. After a number of years the Holhouser building became too small and we applied for the Scott Building. We wondered if we could fill it up and still make money. As it turned out the answer to both was yes. When the fairground announced the new building we put our name in the pot to move in. It was touch and go the first year but it has become a move that I do not think we regret. We now have room for many more vendor tables and larger layouts.
